The second Thursday of each month from 7.30 p.m. to 10 p.m., live music by the review Tappeto Acustico, organized in collaboration with the monthly magazine of art and culture Lungarno and the activities of Creativi in Cortile. Jackson Pollock.The Figure of Fury at Palazzo Vecchio. Until July 27, 2014. Sixteen works of Pollock’s “talk” to The Genius of Victory, one of the most famous works of Michelangelo. Also sketches provided by the Metropolitan Museum in New York and some of Pollock’s paintings and engravings granted by international museums and private collections and a series of graphic works. Viaggio in Oriente – photography exhibition at Casa Martelli. Until October 5, 2014. The 24 portraits were purchased by Carlo Martelli (1850-1945) during his travels in the Holy Land and the Orient. They come from Alexandria, Cairo Port Said, Jaffa and hallowed sites of the Holy Land including Jerusalem and the Dead Sea. A number of photos from north Africa are also on display. These photographs offer a wonderful insight into everyday life in this part of the world. Opening hours: 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.

[Outside Florence] Opera Music Festival – Inferno, Prato. Dancers of the Carnival of Viareggio, trapeze artists, jugglers, and other animators, for a total of 50 performers, will be on stage together with the Florentine flag-wavers and interpret the seven deadly sins. Main soundtrack by the Opera Music Festival with Len Faki, DJ Rush and Jeff Mills and locals heroes Philipp & Cole. Ticket price: € 70/50/30.

Cortona. The dawn of the Etruscan Princes Journey back 2700 years to the beginning of the Etruscan era in Cortona at National Archaelogical Museum of Florence. A path that shows the various stages of recovery which starts from archaeological excavations to the recovery of materials until the restoration process is completed, in view of a final exhibition at the MAEC (Museum of the Etruscan and Roman City of Cortona) in Cortona. [Outside Florence] Un Altro Parco in Città in Pistoia. The historical center of Pistoia will be fully occupied by a green blanket of grass, turning it into a park in the heart of the town. An initiative developed by a group of young architects in collaboration with the main bars, restaurants and pubs that will prepare special menus. All with live music and a lot of events, such as the educational farm organized by Giardino Zoologico. Starting at 11 a.m. Free entrance.

The Past is the Present at Jules Maidoff Galery. The non-profit cultural festival, San Giovanni Battista, dedicated to the people of Florence in celebrating the feast day of the city’s patron Saint on June 24, begins with this exhibition. A love story told through dance: for sixty minutes, originally and unusually, the most vital and secret sentiment of two lovers in their daily routine, in the communal time of work, emanated from the pièce.
