This week we make special mention of the Amico Museo (My Friend the Museum): two weeks, May 17 to June 2, dedicated to museums! A big annual event featuring guided tours, lectures, workshops, activities for children and adults, and special openings. A program comprising hundreds of events in 186 museums in Tuscany to discover Tuscany’s cultural heritage, with unusual events for visitors of all ages.
For International Museums Day on May 18, Amico Museo has adopted the theme “Creating connections with the collections.”

“In the mold of the fathers”, exihibition of British sculptor Jane McAdam Freud at C2 Contemporanea 2 by Antonio Lo Pinto. The artist reflects on the rich and complex relationship with her father Lucian Freud, a famous painter, and the figure of her great-grandfather Sigmund Freud. Until June 3, 2014. Amico Museo (My Friend the Museum), the European Night of Museums, occurs every year on the Saturday closest to International Museum Day. By welcoming the public at night, museums invite their guests to visit the collections in a unusual manner. Many activities are offered during this event, which is attended by numerous young people and families. Free admission in 105 Tuscan museums. Starting at 9 p.m.

Fabbrica Europa Festival, Stazione Leopolda, Unusual Party. An event with a very special line-up, namely, the French duo Nôze and two interesting Tuscan music projects: Celluloid Jam, with their electro-mystical atmospheres, and Camillocromo Beat Band, a new project of electronic jazz/swing arising from the collaboration between Camillocromo, DJ/producer Ghiaccioli e Branzini, and vocalist Piero Gesué.
