Inferno, the Ron Howard film based on the novel by Dan Brown, is projected to hit USA cinemas in October 2016. The shooting of the film, which includes actors the likes of Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon, took place in Florence, Italy, at Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria, and in the city center, as well as in Venice, the city that plays another key role in the novel.
The cast also includes Felicity Jones as Dr. Sienna Brooks, as well as Omar Sy, Irrfan Khan, and Ben Foster.
The film begins in a hospital where Langdon awakens after a trauma and does not remember anything. Released from the clinic and with the help of Dr. Sienna Brooks, he tries to stop a conspiracy that aims to infect the planet with a deadly virus stored in a place that can only be discovered by deciphering codes inherent to the Divine Comedy.
