Should I book my tour in advance?
Yes, we recommend that you book your Florence Inferno tour as far in advance as possible. While we always do our best to arrange everything for very late bookings (e.g.: the day before), you have to consider that access to Palazzo Vecchio’s secret passages is limited. That said, the sooner we can book them for you, the better. We suggest that you book in advance particularly if you are going to take your tour in the months of March, April, May, June, July, August, September, or on public holidays (Christmas, New Year’s Eve, exc.), as Florence is very crowded during those times.

With your Baptistry of San Giovanni tickets you can also access/climb the buildings of the Duomo Complex (Florence Cathedral, Brunelleschi’s Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Duomo Art Gallery-Museo dell’Opera del Duomo) within 48 hours after entering the Baptistry during your Florence Inferno Tour.
Please also note that the Firenze Card (the official 3-day museum & bus pass issued by the City of Florence), which costs 85€, provides free skip-the-line access to all Florence museums, except for a 4€ charge for the secret passages in Palazzo Vecchio and a 10€ charge for the Boboli Gardens entrance through Porta Romana. We particularly recommend the Firenze Card if you are coming in the spring or summer as Florence is very crowded during these times. The card is the best—and sometimes the only—way to skip the long lines to visit many attractions, such as the Brunelleschi’s Dome. Nonetheless, for the Inferno Tour, you needn’t worry about lineups given that you have complete skip-the-line access even without the card.
Booking on Mondays
Please note that Boboli Gardens are closed on the first and on the last Monday of each mont, so if you book for the first or the last Monday of the month, you will visit the charming Oltrarno district instead of Boboli Gardens. Please note also that Dante’s House is close on Mondays from October to March, so if you book for a Monday during this period you will visit the Badia Fiorentina inside instead of the Dante’s House.
Meeting point
Our meeting point is at Porta Romana (next to the Boboli Gardens Tickets Office), where Robert and Sienna start their adventure in the novel Inferno. The complete address is Piazzale di Porta Romana, Florence, Italy, located in the city center, in the Oltrarno area. Check it on Google Map. You can reach it:
- on foot: it is a 20-minute walk from the Duomo Square
- by bus: it is a 8-minute ride; take the bus 11 from Santa Maria Novella Train Station toward Due Strade Via Di Malavolta and stop in Calza 01 – Porta Romana. The bus stop is a 1-minute walk from the meeting point (the bus doesn’t work on Sundays and national holidays)
- by taxi: a taxi from Santa Maria Novella Train Station or Piazza della Repubblica costs approximately 10€.
